For nearly four decades Arthur Godsell has served Godsell Construction Corporation in Hicksville, New York. He took on the role of company president in 1997. Outside of work, Arthur Godsell supports a number of local charities, such as the Fresh Air Fund.
New York’s Fresh Air Fund provides city children living in economically underprivileged communities with opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors. Every summer the Fresh Air Fund puts on a number of programs, including five unique summer camps in the Fishkill region, each geared toward serving children of all ages and backgrounds. Camp Anita Bliss Coler (ABC), for example, caters especially to girls between ages of 9 and 12 while older girls can enroll in the camp’s Precious Center for Teen Leadership and discuss plans for their futures. Boys, meanwhile, can choose between Camp Tommy and Camp Hayden-Marks or take part in the unisex Camp Hidden Valley. The Fresh Air Fund also works with Camp Mariah, a facility dedicated to serving the needs of career-oriented youths and pre-teens. The Camp Mariah program lasts for three summer sessions, and campers are tasked further with a number of year-round responsibilities.
